When mood disorders such as anger, anxiety, and depression dictate your actions, you regret your decisions. It never ends up good. Negative emotions lead to negative actions which lead to more negative emotions and more negative actions. If you are caught in this vicious cycle it is a sign that you are losing your freedom of choice.
When you rediscover your freedom, all of your actions are based on sound cognitive decision-making. You regain your self-respect and confidence which leads to more good decisions. This in turn will earn the respect from others you long for.
